C.A.P.P. – Child Abuse Prevention Program

  • Serves over 100 families and 150 abused children annually
  • Protects abused and neglected children by helping them stabilize in loving homes outside of the foster care system
  • Assists at risk children with the following critical issues:
    • Physical and emotional abuse
    • Homelessness
    • Parental abandonment
    • Truancy
    • Lack of medical care
    • Exposure to drugs


HOME – Homeless Advocacy Project

  • Serves over 600 families and individuals annually
  • Helps prevent homelessness by preventing unlawful evictions
  • Ensures that low-income people have safe and habitable places to live


SAFE – Domestic Violence Services Project

  • Serves over 600 women and over 1,000 children annually
  • Prevents domestic violence by providing victims permanent solutions to safety, shelter and economic issues
  • Protects women and children by keeping batterers away from them and their homes
  • Helps victims by providing access to:
    • Shelter
    • Money for food and basic necessities
    • Health and mental health care
    • Transportation


ELDER – Elder Law Program

  • Serves over 300 Seniors annually
  • Elder Abuse restraining orders
  • Simple estate planning including wills and powers of attorney
  • Simple divorces
  • Elder financial abuse and credit issues

Under this program we provide elder law services to senior clients 55 and over both at our offices and during home visits to vulnerable seniors who qualify. We also provide a range of legal services for older adults who live in more geographically isolated parts of the County, through a mobile elder law attorney. LSRP – Legal Services Referral Program

LSRP is a contract with the County of Sonoma to assist SonomaWORKS clients who are referred by their caseworker with legal issues which may be a barrier to their employment. This includes help with:

  • Criminal record expungement
  • Driver’s license retrieval
  • Traffic offenses
  • Special referrals to other legal aid services and legal workshops.

Monthly Legal Education Workshops on these and other topics are open to the public. Email for the current workshop schedule. To receive one-on-one services under LSRP, you must be a SonomaWORKS client with a current referral from your caseworker.
